be placed in the head of the html document, between the <HEAD>
and </HEAD> tags and should be unique to each page on your web

contained within META Tags to index your Web page. In most cases a
Spider will grab the first few words, sentences or paragraphs and
use those words as the description and keywords for your web page.
META Tags tell the Spider what information to use.

page in their search engines. With META Tags the robots display your
web page description the way you want it displayed. By providing keywords
that describe your page you can proactively drive traffic to your
web site.
Title: The name of your web page
Author: Typically the unqualified author's name.
Subject: The subject of your web page
Description: A short, plain language description of the web
page. Used by search engines to describe your page. Should include
the main keyword or phrase once. Also should be written to entice
a click through from the engines.
Keywords: Keywords used by search engines to index your web
page in addition to words from the title and web page body. Typically
these are the words or phrases that people could use to find your
website. Do not include the same keyword more than twice and never
in the same sequence.
Generator: Usually the name and version number of a publishing
tool used to create the page, such as FrontPage 4.
Language: The language that the web page is written in.
Expires: The date and time after which the document should
be considered expired. Controls caching in HTTP/1.0. In Netscape Navigator,
a request for a document whose expires time has passed will generate
a new network request (possibly with If-Modified-Since). An illegal
Expires date, e.g. "0", is interpreted as "now".
Setting Expires to 0 may thus be used to force a modification check
at each visit. Web robots may delete expired documents from a search
engine, or schedule a revisit.
Rating: Like the movies, web sites are rated as: safe for
kids
Robots: Controls Web robots on a per-page basis.
NOINDEX prevents anything on the page from being indexed.
NOFOLLOW prevents the crawler from following the links on the page
and indexing the linked pages.
Google supports a NOARCHIVE extension to request the Google search
engine from caching pages
Note: All Web pages MUST contain both the opening <HTML> and
closing </HTML> Tags to be considered robot friendly.
